Privacy Policy
Baobab Hotel (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
What we collect
We collect personal information only when you actively provide it — specifically through the enquiry form on our Contact page. The fields we collect are:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Intended arrival and departure dates
- Number of guests
- Your message or special requirements
We do not collect payment card details through this website. Booking deposits and payments are arranged directly with reception.
This website does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party remarketing pixels. If this changes, this policy will be updated before any such tool is activated.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit solely to:
- Respond to your reservation enquiry or general question
- Confirm availability and communicate rates
- Follow up on a booking you have confirmed with us directly
We will not add you to a marketing list or contact you for promotional purposes unless you have explicitly asked us to. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as required to fulfil your booking (e.g. forwarding a group reservation to our restaurant or conference team internally) or as required by Zimbabwean law.
Third-party services
Google Maps— our Contact page embeds a Google Maps iframe to show our location. When you load that page, Google’s servers may set cookies and collect data (such as your IP address) according to Google’s Privacy Policy. We have no control over this data collection.
TripAdvisor— links to our TripAdvisor listing open on TripAdvisor’s own website and are subject to their terms. No data is exchanged between our site and TripAdvisor simply by displaying the link.
Data retention
Enquiry submissions are retained for up to 24 months to allow us to assist with follow-up questions or repeat visits. If no booking results from an enquiry, we delete the record after this period. You may request earlier deletion at any time — see Your rights below.
Your rights
Depending on your country of residence you may have rights including access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at reservations@baobabhill.co.zw with the subject line “Data Request”. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Booking Terms
These terms apply to all reservations made directly with Baobab Hotel — by enquiry form, email, telephone, or in person.
Rates & availability
Published room rates are indicative and subject to change without notice. A reservation is confirmed only when you receive written confirmation from reception with the agreed rate. Rates are quoted in US dollars unless otherwise stated.
Check-in & check-out
Check-out is at 10:00. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and must be arranged with reception in advance. We cannot guarantee early access to rooms.
Cancellations
Our cancellation terms are communicated at the time of confirmation and may vary by season and room type. Please read your confirmation carefully. Where no terms are specified, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the arrival date to avoid a charge equivalent to one night’s accommodation.
Property rules
- All rooms are strictly non-smoking.
- Guests are responsible for any damage caused to hotel property during their stay.
- Wildlife on the property (baboons, monkeys) can be dangerous — do not feed them and keep windows and doors closed when leaving your room.
- The hotel cannot accept liability for loss or theft of valuables not secured with reception.
Liability
Baobab Hotel provides information on this website in good faith. We make no warranty that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for loss or damage arising from use of this website or reliance on its content.
Links to external websites (TripAdvisor, Google Maps, social media) are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
