A New Standard of Hwange Hospitality, Since 1957

Thoughtfully designed for travellers who value calm, view, and the warm welcome that has defined Baobab for nearly seventy years

About Baobab

Nestled on Baobab Hill beside a baobab tree over six hundred years old, our fifty-room hotel looks out across Hwange town and the savannah beyond — the only hotel in town, and a comfortable base about 105 km from Victoria Falls and 100 km from Hwange National Park.

Stay With Us

Recently refurbished rooms designed for the long Hwange day — air-conditioned through the heat, calm at night, and dressed in the warm, earthy tones of the surrounding landscape.

Sundowner drives, guided walks, and quiet afternoons by the pool — our team can help shape a programme around your pace, whether you're here for two nights or two weeks.

Day trips into Hwange National Park, scheduled morning and afternoon game drives, and longer excursions to Victoria Falls and the Zambezi — booked from reception.

All-day dining from the restaurant, a well-stocked bar that has welcomed travellers for generations, and a boma for slow dinners under the stars.

Leave the Rush & Climb the Hill

Step away from the noise of the road and settle into the slower rhythm of Baobab Hill. Here, every part of the property — from the platform to the pool to the garden — is designed to help you unwind.

This is the place to be when in Hwange, built on the mountain top where you can have a beautiful view of Hwange town. Good food and well trained, young and energetic staff. Not to mention the swimming pool to quench the heat.
